Nikola Jokic is back in Serbia for some well-deserved vacation time after helping the Denver Nuggets win the NBA title.
The huge Serbian is a well-known introvert who has gone viral in recent months for his direct, brief, and honest interviews in which he makes it apparent that the spotlight and attention do not interest him in the least.
When journalists asked him what it would mean to win the title, he simply said that basketball is “just a job” to him.
After the Nuggets won the NBA championship, Jokic was taken off guard by the procession and expressed his desire to return to Serbia instead.
As it happens, he can’t even obtain much peace and quiet at home.
Now back in Serbia, Jokic went rafting with a group of pals, but his countrymen noticed him and began calling out “MVP” to him.
Jokic modestly lifted his hand in thanks. Despite his dislike for the spotlight, Jokic has made no secret of his passion for his nation, and he must have been thrilled, at least on the inside, to be recognized by his fellow Serbs.
