Chris Hemsworth’s Thor Journey: Pushing His Stunt Double to the Limit with an Extreme Diet of 10 Meals a Day, totaling 4000 Calories

In the world of Hollywood, Chris Hemsworth is known for his dedication to his roles, and his portrayal of Thor in the superhero franchise is no exception. His long-term stunt double, Bobby Holland Hanton, recently shared the extreme measures Hemsworth pushed him to during the filming of Thor: Blood and Thunder.

Hemsworth, a megastar at 38 years old, gave Bobby just eight weeks to bulk up for the role. This meant Bobby had to gain 10 kilograms of muscle and consume a whopping 4,000 calories a day. Bobby initially couldn’t believe the challenge that lay ahead of him, responding with, “You’ve got to be kidding!” to Hemsworth’s demand.

To achieve the physical transformation required for the role, Bobby followed an intense diet and fitness routine. He revealed that he was eating up to 10 meals a day, including protein shakes. Alongside the rigorous eating schedule, he and Hemsworth trained twice a day. Bobby admitted that he never thought he would be sick of food and not want to eat because he loves food so much.

Despite his love for food, Bobby found the training regime challenging and even admitted to hating it. The intensity of the program made him lose his appetite, and he often found himself trying to give away the food he was supposed to eat. Bobby’s dedication and hard work paid off, as he transformed into a convincing “Thor” alongside Hemsworth.

Bobby has worked with Hemsworth for 15 years and has a great relationship and understanding with the actor. He often steps in for Hemsworth during certain action scenes, with Hemsworth only taking over if there is a risk of injury that could delay production. This arrangement ensures the smooth running of the film and saves the production from costly delays.

The physical demands of being a stunt double are not without their risks, as Bobby experienced during the filming of Green Lantern and Thor: Ragnarok, where he suffered spinal injuries. Despite these challenges, Bobby’s dedication to his craft and his relationship with Hemsworth have allowed him to continue thriving in the industry.

Chris Hemsworth’s commitment to his roles and his ability to push his stunt double to the limit is a testament to his professionalism and dedication. Both Hemsworth and Bobby Holland Hanton’s hard work behind the scenes contributes to the awe-inspiring action sequences and memorable performances that captivate audiences on the big screen.
