‘That would be the dream’: Uncertainty for Tom Holland as Dune Director Hints Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet Might Get Trilogy Before Spider-Man 4

As Paul and Chani in the Dune franchise, Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet have dominated Hollywood. Zendaya has been a part of some of the largest franchises, and her range is not to be underestimated by any fan. She has worked on anything from somber topics to lighthearted shows. Denis Villeneuve’s Dune stands out in her oeuvre because of the film’s scale and cultural significance.

According to the most recent franchise update, things may take an unexpected turn for the actress and her developing career. It’s possible that it’ll make her schedule even busier than it was before. In any case, any future ambitions she had with Tom Holland’s franchise may be placed on hold.

Dune, starring Zendaya, may have a third installment.

Denis Villeneuve recently acknowledged that if it were up to him, a third Dune film would undoubtedly be in the works. According to the filmmaker, there is still plenty to be discovered, and he would welcome the opportunity to work in new area. There is a lot of undiscovered story left in Frank Herbert’s works.

“If I succeed in making a trilogy, that would be the dream.”

Villeneuve’s ambition is to build a whole trilogy. When it comes to Paul as a character, he affirmed that his ideology is comparable to that of the writer. However, if the second picture receives the same favorable reception as the first, a third film is more likely to be in the works. This could affect Tom Holland’s Spider-Man franchise’s next release schedule. There is little clarity regarding the same because the film has yet to make any headway. On the other hand, the box office success of the Dune sequel could solidify the concept of a third film.

Zendaya’s schedule could grow significantly busy from here on out, and production on Spider-Man 4 could be jeopardized.Since the film has been confirmed, it is just a matter of time before a proper start date is revealed. However, given the SAG-AFTRA strikes, that may be a long time.

Denis Villeneuve Has A Similar Vision To Dune Writer

Denis Villeneuve stated that the third book was only created because people never realized Paul was not the hero. Frank Herbert wrote another novel to show the reality behind the people’s favorite figure.

“Dune Messiah was written in reaction to the fact that people perceived Paul Atreides as a hero,” Villeneuve added. “Which is not what he wanted to do. My adaptation [of Dune] is closer to his idea that it’s actually a warning.”

When it comes to Paul Atreides, the director has a similar mindset, and if worse comes to worst, he would not hesitate to antagonize Timothee Chalamet’s character.

Dune: Part 2 will be released in theaters on November 3, 2023.
