Locals have mocked pop diva Taylor Swift over the lyrics of her London Boy song, claiming it represents a day out from hell.
This week, the 29-year-old singer launched her new album Lover, and it has everyone talking.
Some fans feel they noticed a sneaky allusion to Towie’s Gemma Collins, while others have criticised her romantic notion of the city.
Taylor sings about walking around Camden Market in the afternoon, heading to Highgate to meet his best friends, and nights out in Brixton in an open love letter to her British partner Joe Alwyn.
TAYLOR SWIFT’S HIGHLY PERSONAL ALBUM ‘LOVER’ IS OUT NOW.
Some followers questioned if she had actually experienced what she was singing about, pointing out that the voyage would never be described as the ideal day out.
“It’s harmless, and to be honest, I’ve heard a lot worse,” one grumbled. BUT… No one, and I’m certain of it, no one who has been there enjoys ‘strolling Camden Market in the afternoon.'”
TAYLOR SWIFT SAYS SHE’LL ‘ABSOLUTELY’ RE-RECORD HER SONGS.
“Taylor Swift’s “London Boy” is super-nice, but the idea of doing Shoreditch in the afternoon, Brixton in the evening, and then back to Highgate is giving me major London Underground anxiety #TaylorSwift #Lover,” another user said.
“Frankly, I’m disappointed that she only ventures South Of The River once,” someone said.
“And who goes out in the West End these days besides stag and hen parties?”

Another person stated, “#TaylorSwift #LondonBoy walking around & drinking soho in the afternoon does not sound like she’s experienced Arts or frankly had many real London experiences.”
“Nope, not having it,” someone other said. Taylor Swift has not visited Shoreditch or Hackney, as mentioned in #LondonBoy.”
“I reckon @taylorswift13 had a proper Richard Curtis film binge the night before she wrote #LondonBoy!” one fan joked. Everything from Love Actually to Four Weddings and a Funeral to Bridget Jones to Notting Hill! Everyone has been there! #London #TaylorSwift.”
Another cynically remarked, “Can’t wait until #TaylorSwift breaks up with the #LondonBoy and we get a diss track about all the parts.”
