Taylor Swift is the most recent famous person to get outrageously expensive insurance on a well-known item.
However, in Tay Tay’s case, it’s two well-known assets—those endless legs—for a tidy $40 million.
Before she embarks on her world tour in May, the singer of Blank Space is reportedly intending to officially safeguard her precious body parts.
Given that Heidi Klum only insured her own legs for $2 million, this may appear excessive. Anyone with doubts, however, simply has to look at the 25-year-old pop star’s flawless pins from her most recent shopping trip in West Hollywood.
Genetics cannot be overcome.
Legs for days … Taylor Swift shows off her $40 million assets.
Swift is apparently “embarrassed” by the high cost, but the Grammy winner credits her enthusiastic performances for much of her worldwide success, and the insurance will protect her against any potential mishaps that may endanger her career.
“It seems like a ludicrous sum, but if something was to happen to her legs, Taylor wouldn’t be able to give her signature stage performances,” a source told the National Enquirer.
“She thought her legs were possibly worth a million. But $40 million shocked her. She’s even a little embarrassed about it.”
It’s just unfair.
Leggy lady.
Truth be told, Swift needn’t be concerned about going bankrupt if something happened to her stunning gams that prevented her from performing. According to Forbes, she already has a net worth of nearly $200 million.

Protecting bodily parts that can advance your job is nothing new. Celebrities have long insured their belongings. It was estimated that Bette Davis’ waist was worth $28,000. In the 1970s, Dolly Parton supposedly paid $587,000 to insure her well-known 40DD breast.
Here are some of the heftier premiums taken out by stars on their famous parts:
• Mariah Carey reportedly got a billion-dollar policy on her legs back in 2006
• Jennifer Lopez’s backside is said to be insured for $27 million
• Kylie Minogue insured her own bum for $5.9 million
• Tom Jones insured his chest hair for $7 million
• Julia Roberts reportedly insured that smile for $30 million
• Bruce Springsteen and Rod Stewart both insured their vocal chords for $6 million
• Daniel Craig insured his whole body for $9.5 million while filming Quantum of Solace because he was doing many of his own stunts
• David Beckham insured his precious legs against injury for about £100 million — yep, that’s pounds
• Our very own Merv Hughes had his trademark handlebar moustache insured for around $370,000.
