The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards concluded this morning in Vietnam. Nicki Minaj hosted this year’s awards presentation, which awarded two accomplishments awards: the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Awards for Shakira and the Global Icon Awards for Diddy. Taylor Swift was the brightest contender before the awards, as she led the amount of nominations with 11 nods.

Nicki Minaj hosted the 2023 VMAs. She also brought home the VMAs trophy for the Best Hip-hop category (Best Hip-hop MV).
Taylor Swift won, holding the trophy until her arms were tired
Taylor Swift personally appeared at this year’s awards ceremony despite being extremely busy with The Eras Tour schedule and it’s no surprise that the focus is on the female artist. She also excellently brought home 9 wins out of 11 nominations, including the 3 most important wins: Video of The Year and Song of The Year simultaneously for Anti-Hero, Artist of The Year. Midnights also won the Album of The Year category.
It’s no surprise that Taylor Swift won decisively at the 2023 VMAs.
Jungkook received a consolation medal, and Stray Kids outperformed BLACKPINK in an important area.
Jungkook’s most recent hit, Seven, was also named Song of the Summer.Although this is a tiny honor, it acknowledges Jungkook’s accomplishment in the US market.The TXT ensemble also received the Push Performance of the Year award.
Stray Kids’ MV S-Class also enabled the group beat over a slew of well-known competitors, including BLACKPINK, Aespa, Fifty Fifty, Seventeen, and others, to claim the title of Best Kpop (Excellent Kpop MV).BLACKPINK supporters, on the other hand, did not have to be sad for long because the group created history by becoming the first girl group in 24 years to win Group of the Year.
