Though a little perplexed, we were eager to find out more.

In reality, Zendaya will portray the legendary figure of Mary Jane Watson, who happens to be Peter’s love interest and, in a sense, soul mate.) Given that Spider-Man: Homecoming will take place during Peter’s high school years, this makes much more sense.
