In an effort to commemorate the significance of water in our daily lives, NUDES has envisioned a rainwater harvesting tower for San Jose, California. The towering “Rain Water Catcher” is a visionary design concept that seeks to confront the worldwide implications of climate change while advocating for the imperative need to conserve water resources.

The concept of placemaking lies at the core of the tower’s design, manifesting as an “inside-out” architectural endeavor. A 200-foot (60.96-meter) tall central space within the tower’s interior serves as a substantial informal gathering area designed to host events and encourage interactions focused on addressing critical issues like water conservation and climate change.
This space is conceived as an experiential installation area, engaging the human senses of touch, sight, sound, and smell, fostering an environment for learning, discovery, reflection, and dialogue. The project seeks to cultivate potential collaborations with Silicon Valley, aiming to harness technology’s role in the thematic realms of water conservation and climate change.
