Bukayo Saka, a key player under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal, has recently been given the captain’s armband in their match against Sheffield United. 

Since last season, Bukayo Saka has made tremendous progress and has become one of the best wingers in the Premier League. His contributions have been instrumental in Arsenal’s pursuit of major honors.

Bukayo Saka’s impact for Arsenal is just as significant as Martin Odegaard, who currently wears the captain’s armband. This season, the Norwegian midfielder has shown signs of decline. He didn’t play a single minute in the recent 5-0 victory over Sheffield United, and in the three previous matches, Odegaard also failed to complete the full 90 minutes.

Some sources suggest that Saka could potentially replace Odegaard as Arsenal’s captain in the future. In the match against Sheffield, the English player had the honor of wearing the captain’s armband for the Gunners. He admitted:

“I really can’t put into words how it feels. I grew up in Arsenal’s academy, then made my way into the first team, and now being given the captain’s armband. It’s truly unbelievable, I’m lost for words. I really love it, it’s a different experience.”

“I’m still young and still have a lot of hard work ahead of me, I’m also going through a learning process. Sometimes, I don’t even know where I should be on the pitch. But in the end, we played well, and that’s the most important thing. We got the three points.”

“Arsenal scored five goals against Sheffield and kept a clean sheet. We need to build on this victory and continue to progress. The upcoming week will be even tougher with two challenging away matches, but we will be ready and hopeful that we can have a week like the one we just had.”
