As the Cybertruck’s delivery date approaches, anticipation is at an all-time high.
Elon Musk has boasted about the Cybertruck’s capabilities, claiming that these strange-looking trucks will be able to tow 15,000 pounds, plough snow, and survive everything from minor scratches to gunshots.
Its off-road abilities are also touted to be remarkable.
A video of a test model tackling an obstacle known as ‘the stairs’ has emerged, and we’re not sure what to make of it.
Hollister Hills, a State Vehicle Recreation Area in California, is virtually 4×4 utopia.
The terrain is filled with hills and natural barriers, and off-road vehicles are welcome.
We’ve seen footage of the Cybertruck’s massive windscreen wiper in operation, as well as its towing capacity and ability to drift through mud.
However, this is the first time we’ve seen the vehicle attempt a steep climb.

The Hollister Hills SVRA is about an hour’s drive from Tesla’s Palo Alto headquarters.
Three of its Cybertrucks drove out to the location to tackle a particularly difficult incline.
This barrier is an uneven surface known as “the stairs.”
The internet has been left unimpressed after a Jeep owner observed and filmed the vehicles.
The trucks take their time on the hill, gradually reaching to the summit before turning around to face it again.
Watching the Cybertruck seemingly struggle is nail-biting stuff.
You can’t help but hold your breath as you worry if it’ll make it to the top.
The Jeep driver couldn’t help but flex on the Teslas, racing up the same hill with ease and literally leaving the trucks in the dust.

“Had to show them how it’s done,” the Jeep driver said.
It’s worth noting that we don’t know what the Cybertrucks were testing.
There could be a reason they took on the hills so slowly, especially seeing as it’s often safer to tackle a steep obstacle at pace.
But, of course, X users were not worried about considering all possibilities before firing off some tongue-in-cheek opinions.
“Who slowed the video x5?” one commenter asked.
“Whales have a smaller turning circle,” another said.
