Alisson Becker of Liverpool offers his support to Luis Diaz as he deals with his father’s kidnapping.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has extended his unflinching support to teammate Luis Diaz, who is dealing with the kidnapping of his father. Diaz just returned to Colombia after his father was kidnapped by insurgents in his home country.

He scored in his first game back for Liverpool against Luton Town, but instead of celebrating, he removed his shirt to expose a message that read “Freedom For Dad.” Alisson, the Brazilian goalkeeper, acknowledged he couldn’t imagine the anguish Diaz must be going through with his father imprisoned.

Here’s what Alisson had to say, according to the BBC.

‘I have no idea what he’s going through.

We’re there for him and feel his anguish, but it’s on a different level for him. Football can bring joy to someone who is going through a difficult time. Football is currently bringing Luis delight.’

He applauded Diaz’s bravery and maturity in acting well in the face of awful circumstances. Diaz had tremendous inner strength in focusing and making a constructive contribution upon his comeback.

Fortunately, the rebel organization responsible for the kidnapping has subsequently committed to release Diaz’s father as soon as possible. The guerilla organization issued a statement indicating that Diaz’s father would be released “as soon as possible.”

That will be a huge comfort for the Liverpool star’s family after days of agony. Alisson correctly praised Diaz for pouring his emotions into his game in order to help the squad.

Luis Diaz appreciated Diogo Jota’s tribute during Liverpool FC’s win over Nottingham Forest.

Diaz scored the equalizer in the dying seconds of the game, saving Liverpool’s face. The Colombian’s goal celebration highlighted how his father’s safety remains his first focus.

Diaz has earned a lot of respect for managing the ordeal so calmly and professionally. Diaz is alleged to have personally requested that manager Jurgen Klopp include him in the Luton match.

Nobody actually understands what Diaz is going through away from the field, as Alisson put it.

However, the Liverpool squad will continue to unite around their teammate, hoping for his father’s safe return.
