Takehiro Tomiyasu is looking at Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League match against Sevilla as an opportunity for Arsenal to recover from their weekend defeat against Newcastle United.
A victory at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday would secure Arsenal’s advancement to the knockout stages of the competition.
Playing in the Champions League has been a dream come true for Tomiyasu, and he is eager to make the most of his time on the pitch. The team is fully focused on the upcoming game and is determined to bounce back from their previous loss. Qualifying for the next stage is a significant goal, and they are aiming for a three-point victory against Sevilla.
Tomiyasu acknowledges the challenges of playing in both the Champions League and the Premier League, but he emphasizes the importance of staying fit and available for selection. Injuries have already affected the squad, so he understands the need to maintain his physical condition to contribute to the team’s success.
When asked about his ability to play with both feet, Tomiyasu reveals that he didn’t specifically train to be ambidextrous. As a child, he naturally used his right foot when the ball was on the right side and his left foot when it was on the left side. His proficiency with both feet has been a result of his natural inclination and consistent practice throughout his development as a player.
“It’s not easy and my role changes each game but the most important thing is how to behave on the pitch, how much you want to win the game, how much you want to beаt your opponent. This doesn’t change. My job is to give 100 percent on the pitch. It doesn’t matter which position I play in.”
