After suffering major setbacks from Sandro Tonali’s suspension and player injuries, Newcastle United is expected to make a comeback to the transfer market in January.
Following the thrill of earning a spot in this season’s Champions League, Newcastle has tried to hold onto its form and pursue more objectives. In addition to moving up to sixth place in the Premier League standings following their victory over Arsenal in round 11, Eddie Howe’s team was also guaranteed a spot in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals.
Chich Choe is still confident and getting ready, even though they recently lost to Borussia Dortmund in the fourth game of Group F of the C1 Cup and lost their lead in the competition to earn a spot in the round of 16.
Off the field, though, Sandro Tonali’s lengthy suspension and the most recent additions to the injury list, Dan Burn and Matt Targett, are creating a growing number of personnel issues.
That being said, Newcastle will not be prepared to shell out a lot of cash in January to replace players with Financial Fair Play rules. This is true even though the team is said to have compiled a shortlist of potential candidates, which includes Ruben Neves, who is currently playing for Al Hilal in the Middle East, and Kalvin Phillips, a midfielder for Manchester City.
In order to get out from under all financial sanctions, Newcastle will reportedly target the Saudi Pro League transfer market in January of next year, albeit only for loan contracts, according to football finance expert Kieran Maguire.
Chronicle Live was informed by Kieran Maguire that: “I believe there will be a lot of interesting things happening in January when it comes to Newcastle potentially borrowing a few players from the Saudi Pro League in the second half of the season. ”
“Newcastle is currently flying high, playing good football with the current squad, and Ronaldo and Benzema can join St James Park next January. Even Neymar – of course if he doesn’t have a knee injury .”
It is well known that the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) is the same owner of Newcastle and a number of the best teams in the Saudi Pro League, including Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, and Al Ahli. Their transfer transactions are now simpler than before.
With Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo is currently on fire, having scored 21 goals in 22 games so far this season. With this, his new team has now scored 35 goals overall since CR7 left Manchester United in January of this year.
However, Karim Benzema, who transferred from Real Madrid to Al Ittihad in the summer, is also having an effect. In 16 games this season, the French striker has nine goals to his name.
