Robert Downey Jr. seems to have converted his $13.4 million home into a private zoo

Hollywood actor and TV personality Robert Downey Jr. has turned his Malibu ranch into an incredible wildlife refuge that has to be seen to be believed.

The 58-year-old Dolittle actress spent $13.4 million on a seven-acre Malibu property in 2009.

But in addition to making his pad his home, he has created an animal sanctuary and welcomed his family’s four-legged members.

Among the inhabitants are his two cats, Montgomery and D’Artagnan, as well as alpacas, cows, goats, pygmy goats, pigs, and chickens. 

It provides a variety of human houses and enormous wandering greens for his cherished menagerie.

The well-known family man resides in the main house with his wife Susan and their two kids, five-year-old Avri and seven-year-old Exton.

Located at the northern end of the estate, at the end of a lane lined with trees, is the ranch-style three-bedroom, four-bathroom home.

The house was previously owned by actor and model Kelly Harmon, who renovated and refreshed it before selling.

She added the remaining limestone motifs and bleached wood floors.

She also converted an old barn on the property into a guesthouse with two bedrooms.

A basketball and tennis court multiplex adds to the lovely greenery.

Downey, however, made much more futuristic additions to the house.

According to his wife Susan, they wanted to try something that had never been done before, she told the New York Times Style magazine.

“We also adore a character,”

Dante Bini, the inventor, found that he could construct a house in just one hour by “slowly inflating it after topping a nylon-coated neoprene air bladder with wet steel-reinforced concrete.”

He had dreamed that his invention would end the world’s housing crisis.

It is close to Robert Downey Jr. and his family’s house and has a sizable pool area that is open to the public through sliding doors.

The sleek modern home is surrounded by well-kept plants and succulents.

His cherished animals can be found grazing freely in fenced pastures, horse stalls, and riding circles if you continue a short distance.

Because Robert Downey Jr. lives a luxurious lifestyle, a vegetable garden is situated close to the residences.

Downey has an expensive collection of cars next to ATVs that are used for plow work and transportation around the property. 

Robert claimed that he identified strongly with Dr. Dolittle’s persona.
