During Egypt’s match against Sierra Leone, Mohamed Salah required protection from pitch invaders, with shоcking scenes unfolding. 

Security staff were seen throwing punches at one fan who approached Salah, and another invader wearing a Manchester City shirt was tackled. 

Salah’s teammate, Mohamed Abdelmonem, also chased away a spectator who sprinted towards Salah from the stands in the 89th minute. Egyptian staff quickly rushed onto the field to form a protective ring around Salah, while soldiers surrounded him and escorted him off the pitch. 

Amidst the chaos, fans attempted to swarm Salah, and a policeman was seen filming the ordeal. Despite the disturbances, Salah played the full 90 minutes for Egypt. The incident will have raised concerns among Liverpool, Salah’s Premier League club, who will have been displeased to witness supporters invading the pitch. Salah will now focus on Liverpool’s upcoming match against Manchester City, a highly anticipated fixture in the Premier League.
