William Saliba has recently showcased his home gym, but Arsenal fans are expressing their disappointment with the poster he has on his wall. The center-back, who has been crucial for the Gunners this season, has faced a dip in form since suffering an ιnjury in March.
To maintain his fitness in the future, Saliba has installed a gym in his house. Some fans believe that this renovation indicates his commitment to the club and suggests that he will stay long-term, as his contract is set to expire in the summer of 2024.
However, harsher critics have criticized his choice of decoration for the workout room. Saliba posted a picture of himself in the gym next to a poster featuring basketball legends Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman of the Chicago Bulls. But it was the image of Peaky Blinders characters Arthur and Tommy Shelby that received backlash from fans.
One fan sarcastically commented, “Glad he’s possibly staying, but having Peaky Blinders posters on your walls, holy cringe.” Another suggested, “Love the bloke but Peaky Blinders fetishization is a sackable offense.” A third fan straightforwardly stated, “Get him sold.”
While some fans were more understanding, saying, “Thomas Shelby in the background, I like that,” not all supporters were convinced that Saliba’s home gym indicated a new contract deal. One supporter added, “He’s put a running machine in a shed. I’m not sure this signifies his intention of signing a new contract.”
