According to a recent interview, Donna Kelce, the mother of Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift has at last found a lover who is amenable to the kind of attention and notoriety that comes with being in a relationship.
In an interview with Good Morning America on Monday, November 20, Donna, 71, stated, “I think the attention is just part of the whole thing.” She disclosed that the top player for the Kansas City Chiefs does not consider it to be a hindrance to his NFL career. Donna said of Taylor, 33, “He likes attention, so as long as he can handle it, I don’t have any problems with it.” “She’s a really kind individual.”
Regarding the couple’s relationship, the matriarch remarked, “Obviously [she] is a megastar, and I think Travis is embracing [the fame] as much as he can, so I think it’s OK.” The interview was conducted on the same day that Travis, 34, revealed a great deal about his romance with Taylor in a comprehensive feature published in The Wall Street Journal.
The soon-to-be NFL Hall of Famer first revealed that, although it didn’t work out as intended, he had tried to give Taylor Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number during her July Eras tour stop in Kansas City. But according to Travis, one of Taylor’s close friends found out about his desire.
“There were undoubtedly those in her corner who were aware of who I was and exclaimed, ‘Yo! Did you anticipate his arrival? I have someone pretending to be Cupid,” he revealed. After this intervention, Taylor texted Travis to inquire further. “[The Cupid] told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get [Taylor] to reach out,” Travis recalled the incident.
The Ohio native also revealed the specifics of his initial encounter with the 12-time Grammy winner, which happened before her and Donna’s combined appearance at a Chiefs home game on September 24.
He remarked, “We had already started talking when I met her in New York, so I knew we could have a nice dinner and, like, a conversation, and what goes from there will go from there.” Since then, Taylor has supported Travis at four of his home games. He also traveled to Argentina to witness the superstar’s debut as she kicked off her Eras tour of South America.
It was there that the public witnessed the full intensity of their two-month-long connection. Travis lifted his palms to his face in astonished disbelief when Taylor sang, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me,” changing a line from the song.
He was ecstatic to the point where he missed Scott Swift, the musician’s father, trying to give him a joyful high five.
Following the conclusion of the November 11 show, Taylor was spotted sprinting down the stage into Travis’ waiting arms while he looked adoringly at her. After sharing a passionate kiss, the two went into a tent that led backstage.
