Jessica Alba’s Intense Training Journey: Mastering Krav Maga for “Mechanic: Resurrection”

In the 2016 action film “Mechanic: Resurrection,” Jessica Alba portrayed the character Gina Carano, who was the girlfriend of Jason Statham’s character, Arthur Bishop. To prepare for the role, Alba trained in Krav Maga, a self-defense method that combines boxing, judo, and wrestling techniques. She chose Krav Maga because it focuses on practical and realistic hand-to-hand combat.

Alba appreciated the opportunity to play a strong and independent female action hero who is not afraid to figҺt back. She admired Jason Statham’s skills and considered him one of the best action stars. Alba trained with Michael Margolin of Krav Maga Worldwide two to four times a week, engaging in high-intensity interval sessions that included kicking, punching, and resistance exercises.

Alongside her fitness routine, Alba maintained a balanced diet, emphasizing the importance of combining diet and exercise. She enjoyed the chosen activity to enhance her commitment to training. In terms of fashion, Alba made a bold choice at the premiere of “Mechanic: Resurrection” by wearing a stunning floral print gown from Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall 2016 collection. The strapless mermaid dress showcased her elegance and style, and she kept the accessories minimal to let the gown shine. She completed the ensemble with an Edie Parker “Jean” acrylic confetti box clutch in an emerald color.
