Fans have teased Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola for mispronouncing the names of Liverpool talents Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch.
Guardiola was detailing Liverpool’s primary dangers before of Saturday’s highly anticipated encounter at the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola stated during his pre-match press conference, ‘Salah of course, but now with Szoboszlai and Gravenberch.’
Guardiola’s pronunciation of Szoboszlai and Gravenberch surely drew a lot of attention.
After discovering that Guardiola referred to him as ‘Szvolazi,’ Szoboszlai responded on Instagram with four laughing emojis.
‘Bro said “Szbolasie” and “Gravener”‘, one user said.
‘Szoboszlai is going to make sure he remembers his name tomorrow,’ said another.
‘He’s certainly talking about Sovlazie and governor,’ wrote another. Come on man…don’t you know our own players?’.
Another user claimed that Guardiola shouted ‘Bolasie’ rather than Szoboszlai, referring to former Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie, writing, ‘Swear he said Bolasie’.
Szoboszlai and Gravenberch both joined Liverpool from the Bundesliga last summer, coming from RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich, respectively.
Szoboszlai has made 17 appearances for Liverpool, scoring two goals and assisting on two others.
Gravenberch, on the other hand, has two goals and two assists in 12 games.
City sit one point ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League heading into Saturday’s meeting.
