Before Queen Bey’s big concert on September 1, and for the two days prior, on September 2, the Miami-based DJ controlled Club Renaissance. Similar to previous years, Khaled brought together some of his well-known friends and produced several unforgettable moments. Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Coi Leray, Offset, Roddy Ricch, and 2 Chainz were invited by the vocalist of “Supposed To Be Loved” to perform their best hits on Friday night.
“Join us in winning, or watch us win!” Khaled wrote on social media. “Thank you, @sc, and @beyonce.”
On September 2nd, rappers from throughout the nation turned out to support Khaled during his opening set. He was preceded by YG and Big Sean, who performed their song “Big Bank.” Sean remained back to give performances of “Dance (A$$)” and “I Don’t F**k With You.” Khaled also asked O.T. Genesis to perform “Cut It” and “Everybody Mad,” and Florida’s Doechii to sing “What It Is (Block Boy).” Lil Durk followed Roddy Ricch back to Club Renaissance.
Khaled unveiled his opening set last Thursday, a few days before he took the stage. Furthermore, this is not the first time he has shown Mrs. Carter who he is. As the opening act for JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s “On The Run II Tour” in 2018, Khaled provided support. Watch more videos from Khaled’s opening sets from the Los Angeles Renaissance Tour below.
