Sylvester Stallone paid a surprise visit to the Philadelphia statue of his legendary Rocky Balboa figure on Friday, causing onlookers to gasp and yell, “Rocky! Rocky!”
Based in the City of Brotherly Love, the 71-year-old Stallone is presently filming the sequel to the 2015 hit film “Creed.” Since 1976, he has portrayed the underdog boxing champion in seven “Rocky” films.
After filming, Stallone stopped by the monument close to the Philadelphia Art Museum steps that he memorably ascended in the original “Rocky” movie with Mayor Jim Kenney.
They returned a twelve-year-lost plaque to its original purpose, and Kenney gave him a customized Eagles Super Bowl winning jersey.
The monument was ordered by Stallone for “Rocky III” in 1980.
