DJ Khaled is finally giving up some significant real estate keys.

The 44-year-old record label executive and legendary musician sold his enormous Florida estate for $4.8 million, following over a year on the market and an earlier-this-year attempted sale that fell through.

According to PEOPLE’s initial report, the house was first listed for $7.99 million in December 2018 and was almost sold for $5.99 million in April 2020. According to Janet Ben Zvi of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, the broker, “sadly, the initial buyer had an unforeseen family emergency and was unable to proceed with the sale,” PEOPLE is informed. The house was then put back up for sale.

“The price was reduced down to $4.8 million as it did not include the furniture, which was part of the original $5.9 million asking price,” Zvi says. Consequently, the final amount was $3.19 million less than the asking price.

The five-bedroom, six-bathroom estate that Khaled occupied had opulent furnishings, a gourmet kitchen, floor to ceiling windows, a veranda with views of the waterfront, and 14k gold chandeliers with Swarovski crystals. Khaled renovated the property for more than $2.5 million over the years.

The four-story Mediterranean-inspired estate is home to Khaled’s famous Hot Tub pep talks and many of his other Snapchat antics. It also has a custom room where he kept his sizable sneaker collection.

Additionally, the property includes a tropical-inspired pool overlooking Miami Bay, where Khaled is rumored to have thrown many a wild pool party for his famous pals.

In 2016, Khaled gave PEOPLE an exclusive tour of the property — and had a full-on Belle moment showing off the soaring space he designed for his sneakers from a rolling library ladder.

“I love my sneaker room,” he explained. “Every sneaker in here has a certain moment for me in my career. There’s so many vibes.”

Along with highlighting his plants (“They’re my angels”) and stone statues (“The lion keeps me focused, and he’s a protector”), Khaled proudly displayed the outdoor area.

Khaled mentioned his backyard grove, where he has plenty of space to meditate or enjoy a massage from his massage therapist, saying, “At night, when the wind is blowing, the bamboo makes its own music.”
