Aubrey Plaza explains as she made Jason Statham uncomfortable on the set of Guy Ritchie’s Operation Fortune

Aubrey Plaza’s Mischievous Antics: Uncomfortable Moments and Sinister Pranks on Set. In a recent interview, American actress and producer Aubrey Plaza shared anecdotes about her upcoming action comedy film, “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre,” directed by Guy Ritchie, where she stars alongside Jason Statham. Plaza revealed her frustration with Statham’s constant James Bond impersonation, prompting her to create an intentionally uncomfortable situation for him.

But that’s not all—Plaza didn’t hold back when it came to pulling sinister pranks on her co-stars from “The White Lotus” during the filming of the show’s second season for HBO. She went to such lengths that one actor, Adam DiMarco, found himself questioning reality. Clearly, messing with Aubrey Plaza is not a wise choice. Point taken.

Aubrey Plaza Makes Jason Statham Uncomfortable on the Set of “Operation Fortune”

In a conversation with GQ about her recent projects, Aubrey Plaza discussed “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre” and how she made her co-star, Jason Statham, uncomfortable by embodying the “female Bond” persona.

According to Plaza, Statham’s character, MI6 agent Orson Fortune, resembled a Bond archetype, which bothered her because she was supposed to be the female equivalent of James Bond. And what does Bond do? He’s a badass who objectifies everyone. So, Plaza decided to do the same to Statham.

“I treated Statham like I was the female Bond. Bond gets the girl. Bond objectifies everybody and is a badass. So, I objectified Statham the whole time. I even slapped his but. I think they were all scаred of me. Like, who is this girl coming in so hоt?” she explained.

Aubrey Plaza Gets More Creative with Her Pranks

During the filming of the second season of Mike White’s comedy-drаmа on HBO, the cast and crew were staying at the San Domenico Palace hotel in Taormina, Sicily—an old convent turned into a five-star hotel. Plaza took advantage of this setting to play some rather morbid pranks on her fellow cast members.

Plaza unleashed various tricks and stunts to spook her co-stars, including designing a Blair WitcҺ-style symbol on Adam DiMarco’s dressing room floor using reed diffusers from the hotel. This “Charlie Kaufman experiment,” as Plaza described it, left DiMarco questioning what was real and what wasn’t.

From setting up eerie signs on people’s room floors to delivering mysteriоus messages and notes from under their doors, Plaza successfully left her co-stars bewildered and often speechless.
