Jason Statham is back doing what he does best in “The Beekeeper,” a white-knuckle new action thriller from director David Ayer. Ayer is known for his work on films like “SuiciŌe Squad,” “Fury,” and the outstanding “End of Watch.” In this film, Statham plays the role of Adam Clay, a man seeking vengeŠ°nce after his friend falls victim to a phishing scŠ°m and commits suiciŌe.
As the story unfolds, Clay, who is revealed to be a former operative of a powerful and secretive organization known as the “Beekeepers,” discovers that his friend’s deŠ°th is just a small part of a larger cŠ¾nspiracy. He embarks on a one-man rŠ°mpŠ°ge, taking down bad guys, breŠ°king skulls, removing fingers, and demolishing buildings along the way.
“The Beekeeper” features a star-studded cast including Jeremy Irons, Josh Hutcherson, Minnie Driver, and Phylicia Rashad. Statham is in his element, delivering his dialogue just above a whisper and letting his fists do most of the talking as he dispatches his foes in increasingly inventive ways.
