Jason Statham Rejects Bond Villain Role, Prefers Playing a Different Character

Jason Statham: Not Interested in Playing a Bond Villain but Open to Being James Bond

It seems that actor Jason Statham has no desire to portray a villain in a James Bond film, despite having played a similar role in the Fast & Furious franchise. When asked about the possibility of being a Bond villain in an interview with The Guardian, Statham hesitated and stated, “Er… I don’t know if I want to do that. That’s not my thing. I’d rather play the other guy.”

Although he did not provide a specific reason for his reluctance, Statham did express his enthusiasm for potentially taking on the role of James Bond one day. He mentioned that he would “abso-f***ing-lutely” love to play the iconic spy character, and he also praised Daniel Craig’s portrayal as a “great Bond.” Statham added that if he were to play the role, he would bring a different approach to the character.

While Statham’s interest lies in playing James Bond, he seems uninterested in being part of the franchise as a villain. Nevertheless, he remаins successful in his own right, having appeared in popular franchises such as Fast & Furious, The Expendables, Crank, The Transporter, and others.
