Virgil van Dijk expressed his dissatisfaction with Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana following Liverpool’s frustrating goalless draw at Anfield on Sunday. Despite Liverpool’s 34 shots, a significant increase compared to their 7-0 victory in the same fixture last season, they were unable to overcome Erik ten Hag’s resilient defense.

Onana drew the ire of the home crowd for what they perceived as time-wasting tactics during the Premier League clаsh, deliberately delaying each goal kιck. Sharing the sentiments of the Liverpool supporters, Van Dijk confronted Onana in the tunnel after the match. According to Alex Crооk of talkSPORT, the Dutch defender told Onana, “Because of you, we only played a half-hour game.”

Crооk also mentioned that Onana simply responded with a smile. Van Dijk’s frustration was evident in his post-match interview as he accused Manchester United of setting up defensively to secure a dull draw. He stated, “There was only one team trying to win the game. We always aim to win every match, which is why it’s frustrating. At times, we took shots too easily and missed opportunities for better decisions, such as passing to an overlapping teammate.”
