Erling Haaland has sought the expertise of biomechanics specialist John Haddad, known as “Mr Fix,” in his quest for optimal performance.
The Manchester City striker, who is uncertain for the Club World Cup due to a foot issue, flew to Spain to consult with Haddad, with whom he has been working closely since 2020. Haaland previously recovered quickly from a hip injury while playing for Borussia Dortmund under Haddad’s guidance. The Norwegian media has dubbed Haddad a “miracle man,” and despite unconventional methods, Haaland has faith in him to expedite his recovery. Haaland, accompanied by City physiotherapist Mario Pafundi, visited Haddad this week.
While City manager Pep Guardiola expects Haaland to travel to Saudi Arabia with the team, he may skip some games in Jeddah. Guardiola remains cautious about Haaland’s participation in upcoming matches and emphasizes the importance of ensuring he is pain-free before returning to play.
The City striker’s collaboration with Haddad includes the use of light-blocking spectacles to enhance sleep quality and relaxation. Guardiola warns his players not to lose focus on the imminent match against Crystal Palace amid thoughts of the Saudi sunshine and upcoming Club World Cup fixtures.
