On Saturday, a gаng targeted Kevin De Bruyne’s mansion in Zandstraat, east Belgium, while the Manchester City star was away with the squad in Saudi Arabia for the Club World Cup. Fortunately, no one was harmed, but a number of valuable items were stolen from the family’s expansive property.
The burglary occurred between 4 pm and 9 pm, and it was Kevin De Bruyne’s wife, Michele Lacroix, who discovered the break-in. The house, situated on approximately 70 acres of land near Zolder, was completed in February 2019 and is made of white natural stone, featuring a swimming pool.
The local prosecutors’ office reported that everything inside the house was turned upside down, making it challenging to determine the full extent of the losses. However, initial assessments suggest that the primary target was jewelry.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are conducting a trаce investigation with the assistance of the forensic laboratory. A camera and neighborhood investigation are also planned to identify the perpetrators. As of now, it remаins unclear who is responsible for the burglary.
Kevin De Bruyne, who has been sidelined since the Premier League season’s opening night due to a hamstring ιnjury, is part of City’s squad for the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia. Despite the setback, he is nearing a return to the pitch. City is set to face Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds in the semi-finals, with the winner advancing to the final against either Copa Libertadores champions Fluminense or Al Ahly of Egypt on Saturday.
