Manchester City’s 2022/23 season ended with a historic treble as Pep Guardiola’s side lifted the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League titles.

Victory in the Champions League final against Inter Milan finally secured Guardiola’s first European title since he arrived in Manchester in 2016 and his third in total.

As part of their success in the Champions League, City have been selected as UEFA’s representatives at the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia.

The tournament kicks off on December 12, with City reaching the semi-finals a week later, and Guardiola could be on the verge of achieving another historic record.

Rafael Benitez has equaled the record of Guardiola and Ancelotti’s last three appearances, but his only victory came with Inter Milan in 2010, after defeats to Liverpool (2005) and Chelsea (2012).

Benitez is on the list of 11 coaches with the same title, including Sir Alex Ferguson, Jurgen Klopp, Thomas Tuchel and Luis Enrique.
