Dominik Szoboszlai showcased his exceptional goal-scoring ability once again as he netted his fourth goal for Liverpool in their EFL Cup quarter-final clаsh against West Ham at Anfield. In the 28th minute of the match, the Hungarian midfielder received the ball around 30 yards from the goal and unleashed a stunning low strike that swerved in the air, beating West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areоla.
This wasn’t the first time Szoboszlai had scored a long-range goal in the competition. He had previously scored a similar goal in Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Leicester City in the previous round. The sensational technique displayed by Szoboszlai drew comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo, as former Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher remarked during his commentary for Sky Sports.
Liverpool went on to secure an emphatic 5-1 victory over West Ham in the match. Curtis Jones scored twice, while Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah also found the back of the net. West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen managed to score a consolation goal for his team.
With this win, Liverpool advanced to the semi-finals of the EFL Cup, where they will face Fulham. The winner of that two-legged tie will then compete against either Chelsea or Middlesbrough in the final scheduled for February 25.
