John Cena is thinking back to the day when he and Dwayne Johnson got into arguments outside of the ring.
The WWE star recently expressed his apologies for openly criticizing Dwayne for deciding to leave wrestling to pursue an acting career, which led to the animosity between the two stars back in the late aughts.
John clarified that he can now “one hundred percent see and understand” the shift from an entirely different perspective. John went on to make a similar transition to onscreen roles.
During the WWE Fastlane Press Conference on October 7, the Peacemaker star said, “If you’ve been following what I’ve tried to do, especially as of late, I went about it the wrong way.” She also said this in public and directly to Dwayne Johnson.
The 2008 interview with The Sun, in which John said the Game Plan star “doesn’t give anything back” to the wrestling world and suggested he return to make an occasional appearance, set off the conflict between him and Dwayne, better known by his stage name, The Rock.
The three-time Heavyweight Champion now claims that his remarks against his erstwhile teammate “violated his trust.”
