Assassin striker Erling Haaland had a positive return to training for Man City prior to their FA Cup third-round encounter against Huddersfield.

Since Man City’s early December 2023 0-1 loss to Aston Villa, Erling Haaland has not appeared on the field. The striker from Norway sustained a severe leg injury that kept him out of numerous crucial games, including the FIFA Club World Cup championship.

With 44 goals in 2023, Haaland leads all players in the major 5 European leagues in goals scored. Even without a vital goal scorer, Man City is still able to compete in tournaments because of their consistency and form.

Man City has moved up to third position in the Premier League, trailing Liverpool by just five points despite having played one fewer game.

Man City will take on Huddersfield in the FA Cup third-round match on January 7. Mr. Guardiola may be able to release some strain on the attack with Haaland’s early return to training.

It is yet unknown, though, if this strategy would start Haaland in the Premier League game against Newcastle or leave him off the field against Huddersfield.
