Arsenal’s FA Cup Exit: Lack of Finishing, Kiwior own goal and Nelson’s performance was a minor consolation on a dismal night

Arsenal’s final game before the mini winter break ended in disappointment as they were unable to capitalize on their chances and secure a victory over Liverpool. Despite a strong performance in the first half, Arsenal’s players complicated their finishing, allowing opportunities to slip away. They struggled to find the back of the net, even when playing well and creating a sense of impending goals. With 13 shots, 5 on target, and 2 big chances, Arsenal failed to convert any of them into goals.

Their inability to capitalize on their chances eventually led to conceding a goal from a set-piece, with Jakub Kiwior unfortunate to score an own goal. Liverpool then extended their lead, sealing the game. It was another disappointing result for Arsenal, who will not progress further in this year’s FA Cup, bowing out in the early rounds.

In the final minutes of the match, Arsenal had a corner, but Alisson Becker collected the ball, denying them a scoring opportunity. Despite their attempts to break through, the Gunners couldn’t find a way past Liverpool’s defense. Mikel Arteta made substitutions, bringing on Smith Rowe and Trossard to try and change the game’s dynamics.

Aaron Ramsdale made a crucial save to keep Arsenal in the game, denying a low strike from Diaz. However, Liverpool had another chance from a corner, hitting the crossbar before Nunez missed the target with his shot.
