Reunion of the twins! Nearly 40 years after the classic comedy, Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger share a tender embrace: “Excited to collaborate with you again!”

2024 began with the Twins getting back together with Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

On Friday, the Terminator actor shared a picture of himself with DeVito and DeVito’s daughter Lucy DeVito on the stage of the Broadway production Instagram.

“My brother!” Schwarzenegger captioned the cute photo, writing, “It was great to see Danny on Broadway in I Need That.” “It was a heartfelt spectacle and one of the best plays I’ve ever seen—he, Lucy, and all the other participants kept the audience laughing and loving every minute!”

Schwarzenegger and DeVito portrayed genetically altered siblings who only interact as adults in the 1988 film Twins. This marked Schwarzenegger’s first try at a comic role, and the response at the box office was very favorable.

The former California governor wrote, “I can’t wait to work together again,” in a social media post.

A Twins reunion marked the start of 2024 for Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who were spotted on Friday with Danny’s daughter Lucy DeVito.

Schwarzenegger and DeVito played genetically altered siblings in the 1988 movie Twins, who don’t meet until they are adults.

In the long-running movie Triplets, which centers on the brothers discovering they are truly triplets, the well-known actors starred.

There have been rumors that Eddie Murphy will be appearing in the sequel, and more recently, Tracy Morgan is expected to play a new role.

However, the production was placed on hold when 75-year-old filmmaker Ivan Reitman of the original film passed away in February 2022.

After thereafter, the film was offered to renowned Hollywood filmmaker and Ivan Reitman’s son, Jason Reitman; nevertheless, Schwarzenegger claimed to be the one who rejected it.

In a May interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Schwarzenegger stated that “Jason Reitman literally stopped the project” following the death of his father.

“His father was very motivated to do it.” I was compelled to complete it. “Danny DeVito really wanted to do it,” he continued.

“We had the money.” After his father’s passing, Jason says, “I never liked the idea’ and put a hold on it.”

Schwarzenegger said of Danny that he is “a joy to engage with, and his creativity is exceptional” while “working on another picture with Danny.”

Schwarzenegger tried his hand at comedy acting for the first time with Twins, and the film was a box office hit.

The famous actors starred in Triplets, a long-gestating Twins prequel in which the brothers find out they’re actually triplets.

However, the project was abandoned when the original film’s director, Ivan Reitman, passed away in February 2022 at the age of 75.

In an interview with GQ in November, DeVito said that Schwarzenegger “might have opted for Twins 2 instead of entering politics as governor” in reference to his role in the film I Need That.

The True Lies veteran took a break from acting between 2003 and 2011 to take on the role of governor of California.

Thankfully, Danny is so much pleasure to work with and so skilled that Arnold told THR that he was “developing another movie with Danny” in its place. The two are continuing collaborating on a project.
