Jurgen Klopp was highly impressed with the performance of 20-year-old Conor Bradley during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Fulham in the EFL Cup. Bradley, standing in for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back, played the entire 90 minutes and left a lasting impression on Klopp.
With Alexander-Arnold expected to be out for the next few weeks, Bradley proved himself to be a capable replacement. He showcased his defensive skills by making six successful tackles, three more than any of his teammates.
Bradley didn’t just excel defensively; he also made an impact going forward. He provided two key passes and won two free-kicks, displaying his versatility and contribution to the team. Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Klopp praised Bradley’s exceptional character and potential, highlighting his bright future with the club.
Having joined Liverpool from Dungannon Swifts in 2019, Bradley has slowly been integrated into the first team. He has now made appearances in 10 senior matches for the Reds since his debut in the 2021/22 season. During the 2022/23 season, he gained valuable experience on loan at Bolton Wanderers, featuring in 53 matches for the League One side.
While Bradley is yet to make his Premier League debut, that opportunity may arise on January 21 when Liverpool faces Bournemouth. Klopp’s confidence in Bradley’s abilities, combined with his impressive performance against Fulham, suggests that he is set to play a more prominent role in the team’s future.
