Speaking about his present family status and his past regrets, Stallone recently spoke with The Sunday Times. He acknowledged that, during his three daughters’ formative years—Sabrina, 20, Scarlet, 26, and Sophia, 26—he was an absent father due to her marriage to Flavin.

Assuring that his family comes first, he said, “(The separation request was like) an awakening about what was the most important thing of all, which is the love for my family,” even though it was a “difficult to learn” lesson.

He admitted, “I didn’t pay much attention when my daughters were growing up.” She said, “At first, I was really focused on my career, but now that I’m at a point where I don’t have much time left, I want to start asking about their lives.”

“Now when I inquire about their day, they initially responded to me in monosyllables. Before one of them told me, one day, “I was thinking about you.” Oh Lord. That was something I had never heard of before. She says, “A daughter is there forever when she knows you care.”

The 76-year-old actor is also the father of two children from his previous marriage to Sasha Czack (1974–1985): Sage Stallone, who passed away in 2012 at the age of 36 from arteriosclerosis, and Seargeoh, who is 43 and has autism.
