Sylvester Stallone vows he won’t make the same mistakes twice.

After 25 years, Stallone and Jennifer Flavin came dangerously close to divorce because of a “tragic mistake” the actor made.

“It’s a terrible error that I won’t make again—sometimes I prioritize work over [my family],” Sylvester Stallone admitted to a writer for The Hollywood writer.

What caused the near-divorce of Flavin and Stallone?

The divorce petition was submitted by Sylvester Stallone’s wife, Jennifer Flavin, on August 19, 2022.

But according to a source who spoke to PEOPLE, Flavin and Stallone decided to give marriage a second opportunity, which is why they halted divorce talks.

Sylvester Stallone allegedly transferred assets from the marital accounts, according to Flavin. Sylvester Stallone “engaged in the intentional dissipation, depletion, and/or waste of marital assets,” according to the divorce filings.

Jennifer Flavin asserted that Stallone purposefully transferred assets, but according to the actor’s representatives, he “did not engage” in the activities Flavin alleged he did.

Reports allege that Stallone authorized a request from his soon-to-be ex-wife for the “exclusive use” of their Palm Beach, Florida property.

Following Flavin’s divorce filing, Stallone made an effort to make amends with her spouse. His efforts paid off, as Sly and his family were seen by the public at a number of occasions.
