PLAYER RATINGS: Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott Shine for Liverpool, While One Reds Forward Has a Quiet Evening at Craven Cottage

Liverpool successfully secured their place in the Carabao Cup final after a well-fought 1-1 draw against a spirited Fulham team at Craven Cottage. With a first-leg advantage, Luis Diaz’s opening goal was equalized by Issa Diop, but Liverpool’s determination and resilience paid off in the end, resulting in a 3-2 aggregate victory.

The stage is now set for an exciting final at Wembley on February 25, where Liverpool will face Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea. This clаsh will mark a rematch of their previous encounters in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup finals two years ago, where Liverpool emerged victorious on both occasions. Lewis Steele from Mail Sport was present at Craven Cottage to provide match ratings for both teams, capturing the intensity and drаmа of this gripping second leg Carabao Cup semi-final.

Harvey Elliott – 8

Brings a lot of energy and zest to Liverpool’s midfield. Elliott was frequently on the ball in hazardous positions – you could tell since he was booed by Fulham fans – and made some difficult deliveries.

Harvey Elliott is doing one thing better than any Liverpool player right now, even Mohamed Salah

Cody Gakpo – 6

Has battled for starts this season, but he put in a good performance, despite being the quieter of Liverpool’s forwards.

Darwin Nunez – 7

Gets chastised by his lack of goals at times, but adds so much to this squad, and this was another strong creative performance, with Nunez collaborating nicely with teammates. I don't know English and he doesn't know Spanish' - Darwin Nunez 'doesn't talk much' with Jurgen Klopp | Independent.ie

Luis Diaz – 9

His standout effort of the season. He took his goal well, but the Colombian contributed significantly more. He was a constant threаt, and it seemed like he would do something every time he touched the ball.

Jarell Quansah – 7.5

In the first few minutes, he kicked one ball out of play when attempting a switched pass, but he didn’t let it bother him. I tried the exact same pass not long after, and this time it resulted in a wonderful assist for Diaz.

Virgil van Dijk scored 7 points and led the team through the game without incident. It should not be overlooked how much he talks to young people like Quansah and Bradley.

Joe Gomez – 7.5

This season, he has demonstrated remarkable adaptability, giving him an outside chance of making the England squad. Given Gomez’s form, it’s debatable if Andy Robertson should automatically reclaim his place in the best-choice XI.

Ryan Gravenberch – 7

It seemed like a momentous night for the Dutchman. Gravenberch was excellent in his first few weeks at Liverpool, but has since slowed slightly. However, this was an impressive night in which they scarcely handed the ball away.

Alexis MacAllister – 7.

Plays like a typical South American midfielder: tough off the ball and smooth on it. The Argentine gave a good performance.

Caoimhin Kelleher – 7.

Liverpool’s Irish player had a good game. After 33 minutes, he made an excellent save to deny Jimenez and demonstrated terrific distribution and possession coolness. He can develop by becoming a more imposing presence while coming for crosses.

Conor Bradley – 7

Put in a good performance racing up and down the right wing, keeping Willian quiet when the Brazilian tried more direct runs at him. This was the Northern Irishman’s third consecutive start for Liverpool, and he has a promising future. Poor timing for Fulham’s equalizer.
