DJ Khaled aspires to collaborate with Tyler, The Creator again after ending their feud over JAY-Z’s annual Roc Nation brunch.
Regarding his upcoming 14th album, Til Next Time, Khaled told Rolling Stone that he and the former Odd Future rapper are now pals.
Jeff Ihaza, a journalist, said, “He also tells me he’d like to work with Tems and, surprisingly, Tyler, The Creator, with whom he says he has a good rapport, despite a social media battle when Tyler’s IGOR beat Father of Asahd on the charts in 2019.” (He alleges it was ripped up earlier this year at JAY-Z’s Roc Nation brunch.)
Tyler’s IGOR album dethroned Khaled’s Father of Asahd album on the Billboard 200 in 2019, prompting the producer to storm Epic Records’ offices and become irate.
“This is the thing, I make albums so people can play them,” Khaled said in an Instagram video that has since been removed. And you can hear it. You notice that another car is playing it while you drive.
“You can hear them playing it if you go to the barbershop.” You may hear them playing it when you turn on the radio. It’s called “amazing music,” and it’s playing everywhere. Albums that allow you to hear the music are what they’re called. You never hear it, and it’s not some weird nonsense.
Tyler, The Creator has since made fun of the situation, referencing DJ Khaled as he celebrates winning Best Rap Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
“And to [DJ Khaled], thank you.” I’m aware of your hatred and anger. “Oh no, nobody plays that record!” he shouted. “The fully booked arena tours send a different message. Perhaps everyone would be proud of you if you put in that much effort.
Tyler earlier stated that he enjoyed surpassing Khaled to the top of the chart, describing the mogul’s downfall as “observing a man perish within.”

In a 2021 interview with Hot 97, he stated, “Bro, that Khaled thing was fun; it was just watching a man die inside.” I was moonwalking while wearing a wig, and the insane was winning. Everyone was listening to the n-gga’s album. Everyone. He’ll probably never admit it, but that ego was smashed.
“I just let No. 1 talk without saying anything. Because being No. 1 is important to N-gga’s personality, his ego has to cope with it. And in real life, he reflected on that moment for much longer than he did when he didn’t grasp it. Grammy Weekend 2020: Inside The Roc Nation Brunch (PHOTOS)
Since Father of Asahd, DJ Khaled has released two albums, Khaled Khaled and God Did, all of which reached number one. Tyler’s follow-up to IGOR, CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST, also reached number one on the album list.
