Jay-Z essentially declared a boycott of Cristal in 2006 due to remarks made by CEO Frederic Rouzaud of the company that were racially offensive. After fifteen years, LVMH’s spirits company Moët Hennessy and Jay-Z’s own champagne brand Ace Of Spades have partnered 50/50. Jay-Z continues to lay out the blueprint for many rappers trying to make a living off of their craft.

With this new partnership, Jay-Z joins the elite group of Black business owners in the affluent and posh champagne market. He went so far as to claim the title of “highest-ranking African-American owner of a luxury goods product.” Kevin Hart’s mother-in-law Tina Lawson, who referred to Jay as a “bad ass brother” for his efforts in the NFL and at LVMH, has been the subject of numerous tributes on his timeline.
Meek Mill posted a picture of himself and Jay-Z on Instagram along with a congrats. “Congrats to Jigga… inspired by your moves!” He composed.
Durk, meanwhile, used the occasion to reiterate his assertions that he is Chicago’s Jay-Z. Like Jay-Z, Durk posted a picture of himself with a bunch of Ace of Spades bottles.
