Jurrien Timber, the Dutch international and Arsenal’s £38 million summer signing, has made progress in his recovery from a knee ιnjury but has not yet returned to full training. Timber has been working on his own and has recently started integrating back into some group activities with the senior squad.
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, confirmed Timber’s positive development and expressed hope that he would be back before the end of the season. Arteta mentioned that Timber has been participating in training sessions with some players and that they will gradually assess his confidence and fitness levels.
Arsenal has made tactical adjustments in Timber’s absence, with Ben White playing as an inverted right-sided player and Jakub Kiwior operating as a more traditional left full-back. When Timber returns, his versatility and previous impressive performances on both sides of the pitch during pre-season and early competitive matches could be beneficial.
Timber is expected to be the sixth injured player to make a return to the squad, joining Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira, who have already made their comebacks. There is also optimism regarding the imminent returns of Takehiro Tomiyasu, Thomas Partey, and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
