With one charming selfie, Taylor Swift put an end to suspicions that she purposefully spurned Céline Dion at the 66th Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

Dion, who revealed in December 2022 that she had been diagnosed with a rare neurological illness called stiff-person syndrome, has been out of the public eye for some time. However, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer made a surprise appearance at the presentation at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena to deliver the Album of the Year award, which went to Taylor Swift for Midnights. The win was a huge accomplishment for Swift, who became the first artist to win Album of the Year four times—and she understandably got caught up in the celebrations. Swift appeared to remove the golden gramophone from Dion’s hands without even acknowledging it as she ascended the stage and hugged her fellow partners and producers.

That did not go down well with the Canadian superstar’s social media followers. “Taylor not even acknowledging Celine Dion is not sitting right with my spirit,” according to a user on X. “Girl, that is CELINE DION.”

 

But fans don’t have to fear! Following the historic event, the two musical powerhouses were shot together backstage. Swift, dressed in a sculptural Schiaparelli Couture gown, smiles broadly as she wraps her arms around Dion’s neck.
