Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold has made a significant move by joining Adidas, signing a multi-year contract worth £26 million. The talented English player, who recently scored a goal against Manchester City, was seen wearing a unique pair of retro-style Adidas Predator shoes. This partnership marks the end of his association with Under Armour, which has been his brand of choice since his breakout as a teenager.
Under Armour made efforts to retain Alexander-Arnold as their global football ambassador, but the allure of Adidas’ offer, which included a prominent role as one of their brand faces, proved too enticing for the 25-year-old. The German sportswear company sees Alexander-Arnold as one of the best football players of all time and anticipates that he may even take the captaincy from Virgil van Dijk in the future. It is expected that he will play a significant role in Adidas’ marketing campaigns.
Alexander-Arnold has been loyal to the Predator line since he joined Liverpool’s academy at the young age of six. As part of the multi-year contract, he will have his own signature collection with Adidas, potentially leading to additional royalties. The commercial agreement is estimated to be worth around €30 million.
