For Dr. Dre, “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang”! The rapper, songwriter, and producer has officially sold one of his properties in the Los Angeles area, only days after agreeing to sell Universal Music and Shamrock Holdings a number of music income streams and some owned music assets in a combined agreement for over $200 million.

Dre sold a mansion in the Calabasas district of the San Fernando Valley to an unknown bidder for exactly $6 million, or $1 million more than he purchased for it in spring 2018. Dre reportedly threatened to sue congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene for utilizing his legendary 1999 single “Still D.R.E.” without permission.

The estate was built in the late 1990s and is situated in the guard-gated Mountain View Estates neighborhood. The advertisement claims that the property has undergone significant renovations for millions of dollars, transforming it into a showcase. The cream-colored stucco and terracotta-roofed building includes over 9,400 square feet of two-level living space, six bedrooms, and seven bathrooms. It also has wide-plank oak flooring, soaring ceilings, designer light fixtures, and high-end granite, marble, and tile finishes.

The house is surrounded by a gated road that leads to a motorcourt and an attached garage that can accommodate at least eight vehicles. It is set on a parcel of property totaling more than three-quarters of an acre, in the middle of a quiet cul-de-sac. The home features a portico-topped doorway, a double-height foyer with a spiral wrought-iron staircase, a formal dining room, and a sunken living room with a dramatic fireplace and French doors that open to the outside.

The main floor’s enormous gourmet kitchen includes an eat-in island, high-end stainless equipment, a breakfast nook, and a built-in workstation. A large family area with a walk-in wet bar and seating is just around the corner. Other amenities include a movie theater, a wood-paneled office, a beauty salon, and an opulent upstairs master bedroom with a fireplace, wraparound balcony, twin walk-in closets, and a sumptuous bathtub.

The upscale amenities continue outside, on the verdant grounds filled with palm trees. A fire-pit lounge, a pool and spa encircled by a flagstone sundeck, a patio kitchen, a lone pizza oven, a sport court, and a lovely stone fountain all offer views of the gorgeous hillside.
