Leaked financial documents have revealed the extent of Mo Salah’s lucrative earnings off the football pitch. As the highest-earning player at Liverpool, Salah’s off-field ventures have significantly contributed to his income.
Despite signing a reported £400,000-per-week contract extension with Liverpool in 2022, Salah received a jaw-dropping £200 million offer from Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad just a year later. However, Salah chose to remain with Liverpool, where he continues to accumulate substantial wealth through his commercial endeavors.
According to a financial document called ‘Salah UK Commercial,’ dated June 20, 2023, Salah’s various commercial ventures yielded £5.4 million after taxes. Endorsement deals with renowned brands such as Pepsi, Adidas, and Uber have played a significant role in boosting his earnings, totaling £27 million over a three-year period.
In addition to endorsements, Salah’s personal sponsorships alone earned him £11 million in the last tax year. This financial stability positions Salah favorably for his post-football career, should he decide to retire.
Although Al Ittihad may rekindle their interest in Salah during the upcoming transfer window, Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson has suggested West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen as a potential replacement. Lawrenson highlights Bowen’s versatility, goal-scoring ability, and defensive work rate as valuable assets. Regardless of potential departures, Liverpool’s recruitment strategy may prioritize bolstering their defense in the transfer market.
