Taylor Swift Teases ‘Many Exciting Things Ahead’ After Winning Artist of the Year at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards

The Swifites helped Taylor Swift win big at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards!

The 34-year-old pop sensation won the coveted, fan-voted award for artist of the year at the 12th annual iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles on Monday. Although she was unable to attend the ceremony, the Grammy winner expressed her gratitude for the distinction in a pre-recorded acceptance speech, teasing “exciting things coming up.”

“Hey! “I wanted to thank everyone who voted for this award,” the Grammy winner, dressed in a blue top and a gold necklace, said in the video. “iHeart, you’ve also been really helpful throughout my entire career, but this year has been particularly impressive. I am quite appreciative for that.

Swift also thanked her fans for supporting her music and attending her record-breaking Eras Tour. “You know, fans, it is entirely up to you to decide how you spend your time, what concerts you want to attend, and what music you want to use as the soundtrack to your life. And to everybody who has included me in those decisions, I am extremely grateful,” she said.

Aside from reflecting on her eventful year, the “Karma” singer also looked ahead to the future, including the release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.

She then added, “We have so many exciting things ahead of us.” I’m still on tour, and most importantly, my new album, The Tortured Poets Department, will be released on April 19. I can’t wait to share it with you.”

“So, thank you for voting for me for this incredible honor — artist of the year,” the singer-songwriter ended her thoughtful speech. “I am really blown away and grateful, and I can’t wait to continue having fun with you guys because we have a lot of interesting things coming soon. “Thank you very much.”

Aside from artist of the year, pop artist of the year, and tour of the year, “Cruel Summer” was nominated for song of the year, pop song of the year, and TikTok bop of the year, while her 1989 (Taylor’s Version) single “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version)” was named best lyrics.

She was also up for best tour style for her Eras Tour ensembles, her concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour competed for favorite on-screen, and her devoted Swifties were among the fandoms facing off for best fan army.

In the major artist of the year category, she competed against fellow A-listers Drake, Jelly Roll, Luke Combs, Miley Cyrus, Morgan Wallen, Olivia Rodrigo, Shakira, SZA and Usher.

Swift also had a major year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2023. In addition to multiple of her songs taking home trophies, including her Midnights fan-favorite “Anti-Hero” earning the song of the year title, she was also honored with the innovator award.
