Could Taylor Swift have a career outside of music?

Laura Dern was asked this question on the most recent episode of TheWrap’s UnWrapped podcast, and she couldn’t help but respond, having previously worked with her on the “Bejeweled” music video.

“She is a real deal,” remarked Dern, 57, about Swift, 34, who directed the 2022 project.

“On top of everything else amazing that she does and is a real deal filmmaker, which I got to experience firsthand,” she added. “I’m excited to watch that part of her journey wherever she continues to take it amongst everything.”

Taylor Swift is not featured on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter track ‘Bodyguard’ despite fan speculation.

Dern played Swift’s evil stepmother in the music video, which was inspired by the classic Cinderella story. Haim, the band that previously opened for Swift on her Eras tour, played her stepsisters.

Dern stated that she would be willing to collaborate with Swift on a separate project.

“Listen, I’ll show up wherever she wants to go. “I love her,” the Jurassic World: Dominion star told UnWrapped.

Following the release of the beloved music video, Dern expressed similar comments on Jimmy Kimmel Live in January 2023, stating that working with Swift was a “incredible time.”

“I was astounded by what a fantastic filmmaker she is, how prepared she was, and how improvised and enjoyable it was. I had the best time ever. “So, it was incredible,” Dern added.

Swift has also spoken out about her enjoyment of being behind the camera. In December 2022, it was revealed that the Grammy winner had agreed to direct her first feature-length picture for Searchlight Pictures.

While there have been no new updates on the project, Dern told PEOPLE that Swift “cares deeply about everything.”
