Kevin Hart continues to take jabs at Michael Jordan, even escalating his criticism to include the basketball legend’s sons, Jeffrey and Marcus Jordan.
During his Acting My Age tour, Kevin, 45, revisited his long-standing feud with Michael, 61, which began over eight years ago. He revealed that their rift began when he hosted a charity event for Michael and made a joke about him, which led to Michael’s resentment.
“Michael has been upset with me for years because I hosted a charity event for him and he arrived late. I saw him coming in late and couldn’t resist making a joke,” Kevin shared with the audience at his Atlantic City show on July 21, as reported by an eyewitness to DailyMail.com.
“Michael was clearly irritated and hasn’t spoken to me since. We don’t get along, and he’s not a fan of mine,” Kevin admitted. His reaction to this ongoing tension? “I don’t care. I could care less. I’m at a stage in my life where it’s hard to bother me. I’m 45 years old and I’ve reached a point where trivial things don’t matter. I’m not the person I used to be.”
Although the exact year of the charity event is unclear, Kevin had mentioned in a 2016 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel that he poked fun at Michael’s fashion choices, including his small mustache. During his current tour, Kevin even compared Michael’s outfit to a “pregnant lesbian.”
At the Etess Arena on Sunday night, Kevin defended his comments by criticizing Michael’s fashion sense, particularly his jeans. Kevin joked that Michael’s back pockets are so large they could fit a Dell computer and a modem.
In a later part of his stand-up routine, Kevin shared a humorous anecdote about purchasing medication following an injury, joking that the only person with enough room in their pockets for such a large quantity of pills would be Michael Jordan.
Kevin also took the opportunity to comment on Michael’s sons, questioning why they haven’t made the most of their privileged positions. He humorously lamented that he would pay top dollar for Michael Jordan’s DNA if it could benefit his own son, and speculated about Michael’s possible frustration when seeing other famous figures’ children succeed.
Marcus Jordan seems to have taken Kevin’s jokes in stride. Attending Kevin’s show in Las Vegas, Marcus shared on social media that he found Kevin’s jokes about him and his brother funny. He also joked about Kevin’s height, noting that the comedian is shorter in person than on TV.
Kevin’s Acting My Age tour continues through December 4, with performances scheduled across the country.
