Finding a genuine friend in Hollywood can be challenging, but the close bond between Samuel L. Jackson and Magic Johnson is evident as they enjoyed a well-deserved vacation in Italy on Tuesday.

The dynamic pair, accompanied by their wives, spent a day shopping and sightseeing in the picturesque coastal village of Portofino. Samuel L. Jackson, 65, kept it relaxed in a blue polo shirt, tartan shorts, and sneakers, topping off his look with a stylish fisherman’s hat.

Magic Johnson, 54, made a bold fashion statement in a vibrant pink polo shirt, plaid shorts, and white shoes.

Later, both men appeared a bit disinterested as they waited in a designer clothing store, dragged in by their wives. It’s unlikely they were discussing basketball to pass the time, given that while Sam’s San Antonio Spurs were crowned NBA champions this year, Magic’s LA Lakers missed the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade.

Following the Spurs’ victory, Sam tweeted with enthusiasm: “I love waking up to Good News. SPURS!! CHAMPS!! Way to take care of bizness. Congrats to All!!! I’m… YAAAAYYYYY!!!!!”

European vacations have become a summer tradition for these close friends. They previously visited Italy in 2011 for a similar family getaway in Portofino and returned to the Italian coast last July for their second shared holiday in three years.
