Samuel L. Jackson, widely celebrated as one of Hollywood’s coolest actors, made a stylish appearance on Tuesday in London’s Soho. The 73-year-old actor sported a sleek all-Adidas ensemble, featuring a striped sleeveless top, lilac shorts, and a white baseball cap. He completed his look with clear-rimmed sunglasses and a chunky black wristwatch as he enjoyed a casual al fresco lunch with friends.
After their meal, Jackson signed autographs for fans before heading out to explore the shops in the area. His London visit comes just three months after he publicly credited his wife, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, 72, for her pivotal role in helping him overcome his drug addiction.
Married to the Broadway actress for 41 years, Samuel and LaTanya share a daughter, Zoe, 40. Samuel has recently shared that early in their relationship, he was found ‘passed out’ from drug use, prompting LaTanya to arrange for him to enter a rehabilitation clinic.
In an interview with People, Jackson recalled a particularly significant moment when LaTanya discovered him unconscious and took decisive action by seeking professional help. He acknowledged her crucial intervention, stating, “She didn’t have to do what she did. She didn’t have to call this friend of mine and get me a place in rehab or try to fix me.”
Samuel reflected on how he had resigned himself to potentially spiraling into a drug binge, and he expressed gratitude for LaTanya’s support, saying she could have easily chosen to walk away instead.
In recent news, it was announced in May that Jackson will lend his voice to Vic, Garfield’s father, in an upcoming film adaptation of the beloved comic strip. Chris Pratt is set to voice the iconic lasagna-loving cat in the movie, as reported by Deadline.
